Lazy Days of Loser

I’m always amazed at how relaxed cats look, like they have not a care in the world. Our cat, Loser, is no exception! She loves to lounge about and be lazy whenever possible. More often than not, she can be found stretched out by her toys or curled up somewhere near wherever I happen to be, appearing as though she has had such a rough day it is an actual struggle to keep her eyes open (kind of like me on the weekends!).

Wally's Favorite Time of the Year!

Football season in the Powell household has officially begun!

Along with all of the NFL football being watched on television, Wally referees high school football during the week and little league football on the weekends. He even got to officiate at his first Varsity game last Friday! A lot of his energy and spare time are spent preparing for and participating in these games. It's fun watching him being directly involved in something he has a true passion for.

Come rain, shine, sometimes even snow, he LOVES every minute of it!!

Seven years ago today, Megan (a.k.a. peanut) was welcomed into the Peterson family. What a blessing she is to have as a niece!! Meg is such a sweetheart. She is so much fun to be around. She has a bubbly, outgoing personality that just lights up the room. She is one of my favorite people to spend time with. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. You can’t help but be happy and smile when you’re around Megan.

Megan is sweet, sensitive, sassy, affectionate, outgoing, full of personality, silly, smart, social, and an all around amazing girl. We love her so much!

Wally met up with a few of his kids and two granddaughters for lunch on Sunday while his daughter, Ammie, and her family were in town for the weekend. Of course, it had to be documented on the blog. How could you resist posting these cute faces?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NAT!!

Natalie is an amazing sister to me! She is my best friend and confidant. She is and always has been supportive in every aspect of my life. She is happy when I succeed and comforting when I struggle. She is one of the most dependable people I know. If she commits herself to something, she always follows through, often times going above and beyond what’s expected of her. She is a wonderful mother to her three kids. The amount of time and effort she puts into making sure their needs and wants are met is immeasurable. She is hard working, quick witted, smart, strong, accepting, giving of her time (even when she doesn't have it to give), sensitive to others needs, considerate, kind hearted, honest, forgiving, and loved very much by those who surround her. I am so blessed to have been given Natalie as my sister (thanks, mom and dad!)

Among many things, Natalie and I share a love of Mexican food, diet soda, and the belief that you can never have too many pairs of jeans (or cute tees)! I’m often told how similar she and I are in looks and mannerisms. I take this as the utmost compliment! I feel proud when people recognize me as Natalie Peterson's sister. I can’t imagine anyone better than she to be likened to.

Family Camping Trip

We went camping over the weekend with Wally's family. We stayed at a guard station in Ashley National Forest. We had such a fun time visiting with family and getting away from city life for a few days!
