Soccer Star

Our nephew, Gabe, is quite the soccer player! The picture above was taken at his game last Saturday (he is red jersey in the center). Unfortunately, it’s the best one I took. Need to do better at picture taking next game! Not to be biased, but he was clearly the best player on the team:)

I can’t believe what a grown up little man he is these days. When Wally and I first met, Gabe was just a baby. He is very athletic and plays several sports other than soccer. How fitting that the first time I was introduced to Gabe was at a Jazz basketball game!

'Spec'tacular

So, Wally got his first pair of reading glasses last week. I know, it’s not really a blogable event, but have I told you how much I dig a guy in glasses? SO CUTE!! I couldn’t resist posting a picture!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ERICA!!!

Happy Birthday, Erica!

I can't believe that my sweet little girl is 24 years old. The time has sure flown by. I still have many fond memories of my cute little cheerleader! You are now a fine, young woman with a bright future because of all of your hard work, dedication and determination. One of your many gifts is to stay focused and enthusiastic about reaching your goals. You are definitely a go-getter and run a very hectic schedule. Your energy should be bottled and sold! All of these traits will enable you to achieve the success and happiness you strive for. Keep up your tremendous work ethic and positive attitude as you press forward in life. I have always enjoyed great pride for you and your accomplishments throughout your life. Melanie and I are SO PROUD of you and the person you have become. You are such a sweetheart! We will always be behind you giving you the best support that we can.

We love you and miss you very much!! We look forward to seeing both you and Nate very soon!

Have a wonderful birthday!!

Love, Dad & Melanie

The first step is to admit you have a problem...

This is soooo me while watching reality tv! I cannot be messed with or bothered in any way. Attempting to have a conversation with me would be like trying to talk to Wally while the Rams are playing...it is NOT happening!

Shoe Fetish

Our cat has a real affinity for taking naps on shoes, especially Wally's shoes. She LOVES his shoes. She'll pass up my sneaker for his flip flop any day, no question. Upon arriving home from work tonight, this is how I found her:

I believe ownership of the flip flop has been declared!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!!

Happy 91st birthday, Grandpa McKell!

My grandpa is an extraordinary person. He is the most active 91 year old that I know! He is kind, nurturing, thoughtful, strong in his faith, and so loving towards his family. I have many, many sweet memories of growing up around my grandpa. He is so supportive of all that his grandchildren do. We love him so much!!

Happy, Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

Sunday Sunday!

We LOVE Sundays! Sleeping in, eating a big breakfast, lounging around, etc. Sundays tend to be our most laid back day of the week. Now that football has started, Wally loves Sundays even more!!

Nat’s kids came over for the afternoon, which made the day that much better! Noteworthy event of the day (other than the Rams losing 28-0):

Megan finally lost her dangling loose tooth while eating an ice cream cone!

Happy Birthday Groovy Chick!!!

Happy Birthday Melanie!

To my sweet wife, friend, companion and soul mate. As you know, we celebrate our birthdays for a whole week, not just one day. So, I wish you a very special "birth week". You have been such a blessing in my life and I am so thankful to have such a terrific wife as you. I have to admit that you definitely keep balance in my life and are always there to be supportive and understanding. I cannot tell you enough how much I love you and appreciate you. You are such a kind, caring, loving and just plain wonderful person. I know that you get a bit frustrated with me at times, and I apologize for that, but we never allow feelings to linger and we are always quick to resolve any issues. My respect and devotion for you continues to grow. Thanks again for all of the many special things you do for me!

Have fun and know how special you are, not just to me, but to all of your friends and family. You are truly loved and admired by many and should feel really good about being the person you are.

Love always and forever,

Wally
